Accounting tasks and 1. Work with camper transactions. If you have any other questions please contact KampSight Support!
June 17, 2008 Do you know where your campers are coming from? Knowing where to target your marketing effort is just as important as the content of your advertising. You can quickly identify where your campers live and see where further marketing may make sense. The Camper Lists/Downloads report is a great tool for identifying target rich locations for your direct mailings. 51. Analysis Reports, 20. Camper Lists/Downloads, Output Type 2. Select a date range and run the report for ALL (to see past campers and future reservations) and then download the listing into MS-Excel (or any spreadsheet program.) Simply total by zip codes, city, or state to identify strong areas of campers.
June 12, 2008 By now you should have received the email from Shane, Lorne and Louise regarding the special message about summer revenue. Below is a list of how to find those things in KampSight!
Important KampSight reports to help you look at your business 51. Analysis Reports, 9. Reservation Analysis, option 1 for Reservation comparison This prints a view of where reservations are at now compared to same time last year, by month. Use this report to see if there is a month that is going to be weak. Remember that when holidays fall play an important part of when guests arrive. You may see fewer reservations in June than last year and more in July than last year because of how the 4th falls on a Friday this year versus a Wednesday last year.
For a more granular look at arrivals by day, use: 51. Analysis Reports, 9. Reservation Analysis, option 2 for Arrival dates, option 2 for By site type. Run one for last year over a period of time and then run another for the same period of time this year. For last year, because it is historical, you’ll see arrivals by day of the week. For the future, you’ll see current reservations by arrival date. This should help you see the pattern of arrivals versus last year and you’ll see strong days for arrivals versus weaker days of arrivals. This can help you develop action plans for specific days or weekends.
For occupancy (not necessarily when people arrive, but when sites are occupied), use: 51. Analysis Reports, 43. Occupancy Summary Download, Report selection 2, Occupancy graphs. You can run it for last year and get historical, day-by-day views of occupancy. Then run it for the future and get where your occupancy would stand given current registrations (usually long term, on site already) and current reservations on the books. Again, this can help with a view of strong and week periods. Remember that for many summer KOAs, reservations come within 14 days and about 30% of our business is walk-in.
To see your booking trends of how far in advance guests are making reservations, use: 51. Analysis Reports, 9. Reservation Analysis, option 2 for Arrival dates, option 1 for How far in advance reservations are made.
It all comes down to action plans one you understand your business. Is a Hot Deal in order?
Should you email current guests, as they’ve already made the decision to camp with you, and offer a great day on an extended stay or an early arrival?
For holidays or any other time this summer, do you currently have a minimum stay? If so, when is it best to remove any restrictions on stay length to get all the business you can?
Has a group cancelled that has left an open spot in your inventory where you need another group to fill?
If you are using KampSight’s Wait List feature, are you actively contacting these guests with other opportunities where you have openings?
