Value Kard Rewards has been up and running since March 2 and as promised we’re showing you the results so far. You might remember that we promised a report for each campground to allow you to see how you’re doing as compared to the original VKR plan. This should help you to compare your results to the benchmarks defined in the VKR Program Handbook. (Note: You can visit www.KampSight.com and click on “ValueKard Rewards” for a link to the VKR Program Handbook.)
To run the report, just follow these instructions:
From the main menu, choose 50. Accounting Tasks
From the KampSight Accounting Menu, choose 20 Value Kard Rewards Report
Press <F10> and you’ll see a screen similar to the following:

Please note: The red lines were added to assist in explaining this screen.
This report will automatically be updated quarterly by KOA—you don’t have to do anything. At the top of the screen you can see when the report was last updated.
This section summarizes the number of camper nights associated with a Value Kard Rewards discount. (Please see section 1 in the diagram.)
YTD – (Year To Date) This number is calculated by adding up all nights on all registrations for which the “V” or “VG” discount code was used for each year. If either of those codes were on the registration, we included its nights in this total. Since this is a YTD figure, we only include registrations from January 1 through the Statistics Date at the top of the screen.
NOTE: The Discount Code Analysis Report (51. Analysis Reports ŕ 2. Discount Code Analysis Report) will show a slightly different nights total than this screen. This screen only counts nights with the V or VG discount code on the registration. The Discount Code Analysis Report shows any nights on which the registration has a Value Kard Rewards number (ie Hot Deals or other discount).
YE-PROJ – (Year End – Projected) When launching the VKR program, we anticipated you would recognize a 5% increase in 2008 Value Kard Rewards associated camper nights. This number is calculated by adding 5% to 2007’s Actual Year End Total (YE—AC). In our example, if you add 5% to 2007’s YE—AC we projected VKR camper nights to reach 9109 (8676 + 434 = 9109)
YE-ACT – (Year End—Actual) This number represents the total number of program nights (nights where the V or VG discount code was used) for the entire year.
This section summarizes the actual number of VKR cards sold on your campground. Note: You can run the Value Kard Rewards Report (50. Accounting Tasks ŕ 20. Value Kard Rewards Report) to verify these numbers.
YTD—the total number of cards sold from January 1 through the report date for the year.
YTD—PROJ—When launching the VKR program, we projected a 7% decrease in card sales. We calculate this number by subtracting 7% from the previous year’s YTD actual total.
YE—ACT—This is the actual number of cards sold for that year.
This section summarizes the revenue ($) realized based on the VKR Sales numbers divided by 2. Remember, you get to keep half the money on every VKR sale, so we show you the actual dollars you earned.
YTD—this is the year to date revenue realized as the result of selling Value Kard Rewards. You can verify this number by running the Value Kard Rewards sales report from January 1 thru the report date. (Note: Up until March 1, 2008 you got to keep $8 for every sale. After March 1, 2008 you keep $12 per card sold!)
YE-Proj—the year end projected is calculated by adding the actual YTD Revenue plus the $12 * remaining YTD—Proj cards. For you math nerds (I’m one of you!), the actual formula looks something like this:
((YE-PROJ VKR Sales – YTD VKR Sales) * $12) + YTD VKR Revenue
YE—Act—the year end—actual is calculated by multiplying the VKR Sales Year End Actual and multiplying X $8.
This section summarizes the dollar value of VKR redemption certificates taken by your campground.
YTD--the actual dollar value of any VKR Reward Certificates your campground has accepted. You can verify this number by running an Operations Recap (50. Accounting tasks ŕ 10. Operations Summary) from January 1 through report date. NOTE: VKR started on March 2, 2008, so there will be no redemptions for 2007.
YE-PROJ—the year end projection is based on the number of short-term camper nights your campground generated in 2007.

Show me the money! This section shows you the benefits of VKR to your campground in total dollars associated with VKR. We know from historical figures that on average you can expect 20% additional revenue (above registration dollars) on your campground from the Value Kard Rewards program. (Non-VKR members also contribute to your non-registration revenue, but we’re concerned with the impact of VKR.)
YTD—the year to date revenue is calculated using the following formula:
((YTD VKR Revenue + (YTD Program Nights X Program PCN)) X 1.20) – YTD Redemptions.
YE—PROJ—the year to date projected is calculated much the same way as the YTD revenue. The value is calculated with the following formula:
((YE PROJ VKR Revenue + (YE Proj Program Nights X Program PCN)) X 1.20) – YE-Proj Redemptions
YE—ACT—the year to date actual is the actual amount of revenue realized by the campground as the result of Value Kard Rewards. It is calculated using the following formula:
(((YE Actual VKR Revenue + (YE Actual Nights X Program PCN)) X 1.20) – YTD Redemptions
